Website Design
Whilst every endeavor will be made to ensure that the website and any scripts or programs are free of errors, we cannot accept responsibility for any losses incurred due to malfunction, the website or any part of it. All website, graphics and any programming code remain the property of Telteam until all outstanding accounts are paid in full. Telteam cannot take responsibility for any copyright infringements caused by materials submitted to or by the client. We reserve the right to refuse any material of a copyrighted nature unless adequate proof is given of permission to use such material.
Any additions to the initial brief will be carried out at the discretion of Telteam and where no charge is made by us for such additions, Telteam accept no responsibility to ensure such additions are error free and reserve the right to charge an according amount for any correction to these or further additions. Once the initial website design and general layout of the website template has been agreed by both parties, we will be able to make at least one major amendment to the general design or template. If you change your mind after an acceptable and agreed design or template has been produced then we reserve the right to recharge our design fee in full before making any further amendments to the design or template.
The client agrees to make available as soon as is reasonably possible to Telteam all materials required to complete the site to the agreed standard and within the set deadline. Telteam will not be liable for costs incurred, compensation or loss of earnings due to the failure to meet agreed deadlines. Telteam will not be liable or become involved in any disputes between the site owner and their clients and cannot be held responsible for any wrongdoing on the part of a site owner. Telteam will not be liable for any costs incurred, compensation or loss of earnings due to the work carried out on behalf of the client or any of the clients appointed agents. Telteam will not be liable for any costs incurred, compensation or loss of earnings due to the unavailability of the site, its servers, software or any material provided by its agents.
A deposit of 100% is required with projects costing less than £350 (UK Sterling) or $700 (US Dollar) or €550 (EU Euro) before any design work will be carried out. A deposit of 66% is required with any project costing over our minimum deposit before any design work will be carried out. Once a website has been designed and completed, any outstanding balance of payment is then due in accordance with our payment terms. There are no exceptions to this, i.e. If the client decides they no longer want the site, as they have commissioned the work and paid a deposit they are still obliged to pay for the work that has been done. Non payment will result in legal action being taken if necessary.
Our designers use a NON-frame navigation structure to design our clients websites, our team DO NOT design in frames and WILL NOT work with frames or iframes under any circumstances. Frames are rectangular containers in a browser window that show separate web pages within the main web page. If frames don't have a border, scroll bar, or different background colour, you may not realise that they are present on a website. Frames violate many accepted website design standards and cause a variety of website viewer accessibility problems. Frames in their worst form, if used in an illegal manner, can be manipulated to steal private information from unsuspecting website viewers (better known as hacking or hijacking a computer). Using frames can confuse users and viewers can also suffer from printing problems, book marking problems, navigation may not work as expected ('forward' and 'back' buttons), not all browsers are frames capable and website crawlers have trouble getting from the frameset page to the actual web page. A frameset does not provide crawler with keyword rich text and links. Each page is indexed separately, so pages that only make sense as a frameset will be indexed individually in search engines. Also, a "no frames" tag in a website page is ignored due to spam. Frames are generally regarded in the website design industry as 'old hat'. We do not design in frames for the above reasons.
Regarding our website link in your design: You can have the small link to our website removed if you feel this is absolutely necessary. We will charge £50 to remove the links.
Database, Application and E-Commerce Development
Telteam cannot take responsibility for any losses incurred by the use of any software created for the client. Whilst every care has been taken to ensure products are problem free and accurate, the ultimate responsibility lies with the client in ensuring that all software is functioning correctly before and when in use. Where applications or sites are developed on servers not recommended by Telteam, the client is expected to provide or seek any information,additional software,support or co-operation pertaining to the server required in order for the application to be correctly developed. Where large applications are to be developed, it is the clients responsibility to provide a suitable testing environment which is identical to the final production environment. The client is expected to test fully any application or programming relating to a site developed by Telteam before being made generally available for use. Where "bugs", errors or other issues are found after the site is live, Telteam will endeavor (but is not obliged to) to correct these issues to meet the standards of function outlined in the brief. If your PHP script, software or database develops a problem due to hacking, spamming or general ms-management then we reserve the right to charge a fee to correct or re-install your system and files and you may loose any stored data if your system, files or database need to be re-installed. We reserve the right to refuse to work with certain software applications. If you have bought or acquired some software which you want installed onto your website hosting then you will need to contact us in the first instance, to find our if we are able to work with your software. In most cases, we only work with licensed software which has been fully tested by our team. For any client who wishes to change website hosting providers after we have completed our installation of your script or software then you must understand that you may loose part or all of your database information unless you manually copy the files within PHPMyadmin.
Payment Timescale Policy - Future Changes and Updating Websites
Depending on the nature of your website or general project, it may be necessary that some of its content will need to be updated from time to time. For example, your company may move offices and so the details on the contact page of your website would have to be changed accordingly. You may change a telephone number or an email address. For whatever reason, it is inevitable that some of the information contained within the pages of your website may become out of date or factually incorrect. You need to know that whenever you want something changed or added to your website, it can be done easily and without great expense.
Our terms and general policy with regard to future changes and updating of websites and all other work we carry out for clients as follows:
Our clients benefit from the fact that we can produce and complete their project within seven working days from receipt of payment and general content for the project. With this in mind, we use a "Payment Timescale Policy" to calculate when it is necessary to make any additional charge for future updates to text, images or general content. Our Payment Timescale Policy is based upon the clients actual payment date for the website project (or final installment) with a grace period of one calendar month to allow for free updating of the website or general project. Thereafter, the charges below apply to all clients who have a live and completed website or general project of which the payment for the project is over our one month Payment Timescale Policy. Any other updates or changes required are negotiable.
All minor updates and alterations to the text or image content on a website page: £10 per page altered
For large-scale alterations to the text or image content on a website page: £20 per page altered
For future additional website pages: £33 per page
An example of this: Clients payment for project: 01/04/2008 - Completion of project: 15/04/08 - Future changes and updating charges would apply from: 01/05/2008 (one month from payment date).
Our Payment Timescale Policy makes it simple for our clients to work out any possible future costs to alter their website. We do not base our work on hourly rates (many other website design firms charge per hour for updates) as it can confuse our clients into thinking that they could be charged a large amount for updates. Because of our Payment Timescale Policy, you can be sure that you always get the best deal at the start of your project and also in the future.
Compatibility - Web Browser Viewing
Telteam will endeavor to ensure that any developed/designed site or application will function correctly on the server it is initially installed in and that it will function correctly when viewed with the web browsing software Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6 and 7 and also to an acceptable level with Mozilla browsers. Telteam can offer no guarantees of correct function with all browser software.
Website Hosting Services
Telteam offer two discounted hosting packages - Our Standard Hosting Service and our Premium Hosting Service. We are able to set up and manage your website hosting which saves you time, money and the effort involved in setting it up yourself. We have one of the latest, quickest and most reliable dedicated servers, from which we host our clients websites, however we can offer no guarantee to the availability or interruption of the service. Telteam will not accept liability for losses caused by the unavailability, malfunction or interruption of our website hosting service, or for loss of turnover, sales, revenue, profits or indirect, consequential or special loss.
We are happy to set up an alternative hosting service for your website (through another website hosting provider) and we will also work on a design only basis (where the client has already bought their website hosting through another website hosting provider). In both of these cases, Telteam will not accept liability for losses caused by the unavailability, malfunction or interruption of any alternative website hosting providers, or for loss of turnover, sales, revenue, profits or indirect, consequential or special loss. Please remember that if you choose to have your website hosted with a website hosting provider other than our own website hosting service, then you are solely responsible for the renewal of the actual website hosting package, as we cannot warn you in advance that the service renewal is due. If your website is hosted with a website hosting provider other than our own website hosting service and your renewal expires without payment being made for the renewal of website hosting services or any other services, you may loose all functionality on your website and we would reserve the right to charge a fee to reinstall the website design files.
Email Marketing
Telteam offer email marketing services, email sending software and advice to our many business clients. Whilst we recommend email marketing as an effective way to promote your business, we take no responsibility for our clients use of such methods to market their products or services. Telteam are not responsible for any of the clients email marketing content or method of sending emails (spam). Spam (unsolicited commercial email, spam email, bulk email, mass email, junk email) is email that a recipient does not have intention of receiving and did not request. Spam is usually generated by businesses who are looking for inexpensive business opportunities in an unethical manner but can also be generated by email-creating worms or individuals who knowingly or unknowingly send bulk emails to usually unsuspecting recipients whom the sender may or may not even know. Whatever the source, Spam causes frustration for individuals and can potentially slow or even temporarily disable computers, networks, or even the internet because of the increase of traffic. Email marketing services and advice are offered to clients of Telteam and we believe that when used effectively, email marketing is a powerful and successful means of communication. For this very reason, we trust that our clients will only send emails to recipients from whom they have gained pre-authorisation for emailing.
Pricing Policy
Telteam offer low cost services to our many clients. Our main client profiles are small to medium sized businesses, self employed and private individuals. Our company maintains annual turnover levels which are less than the required government figures requiring compulsory registration for VAT, hence we do not currently need to charge VAT on our services and we have not voluntarily registered for VAT. Also, we understand that the majority of our clients are also non VAT registered and in turn cannot claim back VAT on their purchases, including our services. For these reasons and because we do not charge VAT on our services, we become much more competitive with regard to pricing than a similar company who maybe registered for VAT. For clients based outside the UK we do not charge VAT on our services.
General
Telteam reserve the right to refuse to handle in any way, material which may be deemed offensive, illegal or in any way controversial. Telteam reserve the right to decline part or all of our services to any client for any genuine reason. If you cannot agree to our terms as stated then you must leave this website immediately.
